Certification Programs

Starting your training, or continuing your training with STOTT PILATES® begins with our Certification Programs. Whichever certification program you choose you will learn the STOTT PILATES® Five Basic principles; effective communication and observation skills, verbal cuing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation; modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions; theory and practice of postural analysis; and exercise layering related to effective program design.

The STOTT PILATES® Intensive Program (Level 1) is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement, or those who have completed the Functional Anatomy course and meet the Pilates class requirements. The focus is on expanding student’s current knowledge while delivering complete instruction in STOTT PILATES® principles and Essential and Intermediate exercises in a fast-paced format.

This option is ideal for those who are unable to devote the amount of time required in our Comprehensive Program due to work and/or scheduling issues.

Intensive Program choices:

  • Intensive Mat-Plus™ – IMP
  • Intensive Reformer™ – IR
  • Intensive Cadillac, Chair & Barrels – ICCB

After completing any of these programs students will be prepared to teach the entire Essential and Intermediate repertoires.

STOTT PILATES Intensive Mat-Plus™ (IMP) Course

The Advanced (Level 2) program begins with a review of relevant Essential and Intermediate exercises, then students learn to apply STOTT PILATES® biomechanical principles to exercises that require a higher degree of strength, balance and coordination. These courses can be taken immediately after the corresponding Level 1 course or as a series of courses.

Advanced Program choices:

  • Advanced Mat – AM
  • Advanced Reformer – AR
  • Advanced Cadillac – ACAD
  • Advanced Chair – ACHR
  • Advanced Barrels – ABRL
